Chocolate Chip Mug Cookie

In this week’s episode of Extreme Kitchens, I am cooking myself a whole dinner in the microwave of a hotel room! Who needs to order food from a restaurant when you can make Mac & Cheese and a Mug Cookie in the microwave?!? 😂 Obviously, you can also whip these up in your home microwave for a fun project and no-mess dinner. If I can make this whole dinner in a gross hotel room, then you can make them at home no matter how unconventional your kitchen is!

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips


  • Place the butter in a large mug and melt in the microwave for 20 seconds. Add in the brown sugar, white sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined. Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
  • Microwave for 1 minute then serve immediately.

Microwave Mac & Cheese

  • ¼ cup elbow macaroni
  • ½ cup water divided
  • ½ cup cheese I used half cheddar and half mozzarella.
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter


  • Add the elbow macaroni and ¼ cup of the water into a large mug. Microwave for 3 minutes, stir then add in another ¼ cup of water and microwave for another 3 minutes. Add in the cheese, milk, and butter. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for another minute. Serve immediately.
