WHAT YOU’LL NEED

For the French Toast Sticks:

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 1-inch slices challah bread
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter

For the Maple Yogurt:

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

For the French Toast Sticks:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Farenhight.
  • In a wide bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, honey, vanilla extract, and salt. In another wide bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon until fully combined.
  • Cut the slices of bread into 1-inch by 1-inch strips. Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture and soak for 30 seconds per side. Remove from the egg mixture and transfer to a cooling rack placed over a sheet pan to catch the excess egg mixture.
  • Place each of the strips into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and coat completely. Transfer back to the cooling rack until all pieces are coated.
  • Heat a large griddle over medium heat. Grease with the butter, then cook the slices, in batches, for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Once cooked, place on a baking sheet then bake in the oven for 5 minutes to ensure the center is cooked. Serve immediately along with the Maple Yogurt.

For Maple Yogurt:

  • Whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
